Two new directors join Stag FM's board

TWO new directors have joined the board of Stag FM Ltd, one of the radio stations applying for the commercial radio licence for Hertford and surrounding areas.

Tom Pitt-Chambers, 24, and Susanne King, 36, both from Hertfordshire, this week joined the team at Stag FM, which now brings the radio station's board of directors up to nine.

This follows the appointment last month of popular local businessman and Graveson's managing director David Tomlin as vice chairman of the Hertford-based radio station.

Tom Pitt-Chambers, who is vice president communications & media of the University of Hertfordshire's Students' Union, first attended the university in Hatfield in 1993 where he joined the Students Union Drama Society and began to develop his skills on the technical side by putting on semi-professional theatre shows.

After finishing his studies, Tom was elected vice president communications & media, a full time sabbatical position of the Students' Union. The duties of this role include overseeing the Union's radio station, newspaper, website and general publicity. He has also taken an active role in training students in EOkey skills as part of the National Student Learning Programme.

Locally-born Susanne King has been a music lover all her life and at 16 she entered the local Miss Ware competition and won. She gained a good knowledge of the districts of Hertfordshire, representing her town in attending charity functions and supporting the needy.

A mother with two teenage sons, Susanne shares their tastes in music and also likes rock 'n' roll, Latin American, dance, classic and country. She also works as an administrative officer with the TAVR Association in the County.

The two new directors take their seats on the board of Stag FM Ltd. beside chairman Professor Eric Moonman OBE, a former MP who has been actively involved in radio for 20 years; David Tomlin, managing director of Graveson's of Hertford and vice chairman of Stag FM; Hertfordshire businesswoman Jean Hewitt; Debbie Le May, assistant editor of the Herald newspaper series; Sue Roscoe of Oasis FM; musician Marty Wilde and Robert Clarkson from DMG Radio.
